Tanna island is located in the Vanuatu archipelago, and is the most populated island in the Tafea province. The main attraction on the island is Mount Yasur, which is the most accessible active volcano in the world, located on the southeast coast. The island is also known for its kastom villages, where modern inventions are restricted and the natives wear traditional dress and are largely uneducated.
Aniwa island is a raised coral atoll located 24km northeast of Tanna. It is known for its sandalwood and its spectacular clear lagoon with fine white sand, making it excellent for swimming and snorkeling.
