Louisbourg is a community located on the southeast coast of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. It is located beside the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. This National Historic Site of Canada employs many residents and attracts thousands of tourists every year. The fortress holds large scale historical reenactments every few years to mark important historical events and attract visitors to the town.
Besides the Fortress, beautiful island and magnificent seascapes and beaches also await visitors to Louisbourg. The Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the Cabot Trail are also within easy driving distance, as is the Alexander Graham Bell Museum at Baddeck.
