The British Virgin Islands, about 50 (mostly uninhabited) islands and cays, are one of the Caribbean's most popular destinations. The sheltered harbour of Soper's Hole is located at the west end of Tortola. Surrounded by small mountains, Soper's Hole opens to a sea of islands, including St. John. It is a yachting centre and a relaxing place to anchor for the evening. Frenchman's Cay is the location of most of the activities at Soper's Hole as well as Kelly's on the bay side and Frenchman's Cay Resort at its Channel point.
The islands' main ferry terminal is located at Soper’s Hole, as well as several restaurants. The charming Soper's Hole Marina and shopping centre can be found at neighbouring Frenchman's Cay, which is linked to Tortola by a small bridge. Visit the nearby ruins of 17th century Dutch Fort Recovery, standing guard over the sleepy village of West End.
