Hayman Island, Queensland, Australia

Hayman Island is the most northerly of the Cumberland Islands, part of the Whitsunday Islands, which are located off the coast of Central Queensland, Australia. A magnificent range of flora, fauna and marine life is found here. It is protected against damage or removal, as Hayman is within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Beyond the beach lies a coral reef, 800 metres wide, which fronts the southern half of the island. The reef becomes exposed at low tide and is covered by up to 4 metres of water at high tide.

The Marine Centre operates Reef cruises, fishing, a PADI-accredited Dive Centre, helicopter and seaplane flights. Island activities include cultural and dining tours and extensive sporting options.
