Minorca (Menorca both in Catalan and Spanish) is one of the Spanish Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea. The major towns are Maó and Ciutadella and the main tourist areas along the south coast include the resorts of Santo Tomas, Son Bou, Cala en Porter, Binibeca, Punta Prima and S'Algar.
Attractions on the island include Fornells, a small fishing village on the north coast that has some great fish restaurants and is located on the edge of a large picturesque bay. Maó or Mahon is the capital city with one of the deepest natural harbours in the world.
Minorca is also known for its prehistoric sites; within the city limits of Mahon, is the "village" at Trepucò, one of the best prehistoric sites on Minorca.
