Cassis is a commune situated 55 km's east of Marseille in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France. It is a popular tourist destination, famous for its charming village, its beaches and the nearby Calanques.

A small road leads to the village of Cassis, winding its way between the vineyards and the pine forest. The village boasts charming narrow streets and squares bordered by colorful houses that belong to the local fishermen. The port area with its boats and inviting terraces is attractive, as are the many historical buildings and public monuments.

The spectacular white cliffs of the Calanques between Marseille and Cassis are popular amongst tourists and locals alike, offering several vantage points (such as the Corniche des Crêtes and Cap Canaille) allowing spectacular panoramas. A great number of hikers frequent the area, following numerous pre-marked trails.
