Skiathos, Greece

Skiathos is a Greek island located in the Sporades group. It is the smallest in size, yet attracts the largest number of visitors to this part of the Aegean. Its beaches are legendary, its lifestyle is cosmopolitan, and it boasts a lovely capital, and many pretty resort-style settlements along its magnificent shores.

The island encompasses pine-covered low hills, with a main road running in a southerly direction from the east coast all the way around to the west coast, where the best beaches are found. The north coast is accessible only on foot or by caique. Skiathos is not an island with inland villages; it has the main town and capital, Chora, and lots of little seaside settlements that have been developed for tourism.
