Tropea is a municipality located within the province of Vibo Valentia, in Calabria (southern Italy). The town is a famous bathing place, situated on a reef, in the gulf of St. Euphemia connected with the mainland by a narrow strip in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Tropea is a picturesque holiday destination town with an historic centre perched on cliffs above the sea. Visitors will enjoy walking down Corso Vittorio Emanuele toadmire the view over the sea and beach. There are many pretty lanes and hidden squares, as well as traces of the old town walls and fortifications.

Tropea railway station is a short walk uphill from the centre of town.
