Mythemna, Greece

Mythemna (also Mithymna, Molyvos) is a former municipality on the island of Lesbos, North Aegean, Greece. The second most important town of the island, it is located at the northern tip of Lesbos (Lesvos). It is a beautiful village with a majestic Genoese fortress on its hilltop overlooking a picturesque harbour.

At Mithymna there are art galleries, antique, craft and jewellery shops leading along the narrow cobbled streets. There is a long narrow beach which gets quite crowded; however the beach at Petra (6km), south of Mithymna is more pleasant.
