Kythnos is a Greek island and municipality in the Western Cyclades between Kea and Serifos. It is 56 nautical miles (104 km) from the harbor of Piraeus. Kythnos has more than 70 beaches and two major settlements, the villages of Messaria (Hora) and Dryopis.
Kythnos is a quiet island with beautiful beaches, picturesque villages and mountainous landscapes. The seaside village of Loutra is the most popular with tourists seeking its thermal spas and springs. The most famous beach on the island is Kolona, located 6 km west of Chora.
