Located on the Turkish Riveria, 40km west of the city of Antlaya, Kemer is a seaside resort in the Antalya Province on the Mediterranean coast.
The name Kemer has been given to the city for the Turkish word belt, due to the fact that the river that flows through Kemer looks like a belt.
Until the early 1980’s Kemer was charming Mediterranean village with two to three story houses lost among orange groves, facing the pine forest of the Toros Mountains, but today, tourism flourishes in Kemer and plays an important part in tourism in Turkey.
