Alcester Island is located in the Solomon Sea at the eastern end of New Guinea mainland, 50 km SW of Muyua (Woodlark) Island. It is one of the Trobriand Islands (today officially known as the Kiriwina Islands), which are an archipelago of coral atolls off the eastern coast of New Guinea. They are situated in Milne Bay Province in Papua New Guinea.

Alcester Island offers crystal clear water and gardens of coral filled with a spectacular array of the most colourful fish; perfect conditions for snorkelling, diving and swimming.
