Opatija is located in the Kvarner Gulf, and is the biggest city on the Eastern coast of Istra, Croatia. Its mild climate and stunning setting made it a favorite holiday destination.
Opatija's highly indented and rocky coast is bordered by a shady promenade, the Lungomare, which extends for 12km to the picturesque village of Lovran. Along the way, there are dozens of secluded coves for swimming and sun baking.
Opatija has something for everyone. Families have a kiddie park along the sea, couples can take romantic strolls on the Lungomare, singles will enjoy the nightlife. Concerts, operas, exhibitions and theatrical performances happen all year round and Opatija enjoys excellent sporting facilities, good restaurants and hotels.

Travel Links – There are no direct boat or ferry connections to Opatija, but it's only 13km west of Rijeka, the starting point for the Jadrolinija coastal route. Local buses connect Opatija to Rijeka and there are frequent intercity buses to Pula, Rovinj and Porec where there are ferries to Italy.
