Saranda is the capital of the District of Sarandë in Albania, and it is one of the most important tourist attractions of the Albanian Riviera. It lies opposite the Greek island of Corfu and is located near the remains of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Due to its location and warm weather Saranda is one of the most attractive tourist town in Albanian Riviera, where honeymooners traditionally spend their holidays. Located in front of the sea and along the main promenade there are lovely palm trees, restaurants and small cafes.

Travel Links – Buses to Saranda from both Tirana and Vlora follow an interior route via Gjirokastra.
Several buses to Gjirokastra and Tirana leave Saranda in the morning.
Saranda is increasingly becoming a popular tourist attracting day-trippers from the nearby Greek holiday island of Corfu. Hydrofoils (30 minutes) and ferries (90 minutes) run daily between the New Port in Corfu Town and Saranda. A regular public bus service runs between Saranda port and Butrint.
