Mazara del Vallo is a town in southwestern Sicily, Italy, which lies mainly on the left bank at the mouth of the Mazaro river. It is best known as a fishing centre, its port gives shelter to the largest fishing fleet in Italy and its harbor is regarded as the heart of the town.
Among the streets behind the harbor sits Piazza Plebiscito, graced with the elegant façade of Sant’Ignazio (18C) and the former Jesuit College (17C) with its lovely doorway. Piazza della Repubblica is a focal point in the town; to the south is Lungomare Mazzini where the seafront is flanked by gardens shaded by magnolias and palm trees. At the eastern end of Lungomare Mazzini is the Norman Arc which are remains of the old Norman Castle.

Port Location –The port of Mazara del Vallo is located in the heart of the town.
Travel Links – Mazara del Vallo is connected to the rest of Sicily by a regional train service (run by Trenitalia), private bus service, and by car, via the A29 highway (also known as Palermo-Mazara del Vallo). It is also easily reachable from the nearby airports of Trapani and Palermo.
During the summer period, Mazara is also connected via ferry to the island of Pantelleria and Hammamet, in Tunisia.
