Saint-Jean-de-Luz is an attractive resort on the Basque coast, near the border of Spain. A major fishing port, it is known for its Basque architecture, sandy bay and exceptional cuisine.
The town center of St Jean de Luz has a medieval background with a mixture of architecture, old World charm, old buildings and narrow lanes. Around the main square are some of the best sea-food restaurants on the Cote Basque, as well as other bars and terraces from which to enjoy the regular musical events in the square. There are some chic shops and a casino at the more commercial end of town.
